Apps you can’t live in London without

It can be a bit daunting arriving in a new, unknown city, especially one as big as London but there are so many great apps available to help you get the best out of your trip. From transport to food, these will make your visit so much easier and are mostly free!


Citymapper – Great for finding your way around and exploring the city, you’re guaranteed not to get lost. It’s easy to choose the mode of transport and even tells you the price as well. Top tip – let yourself get lost exploring the sights of London then use Citymapper to find your way back home!

Uber – A good app to have as a backup if you’re lost in the city, end up far from Astor or on a night out when you just can’t be bothered to catch the bus – simply summon an Uber and make it home quickly and comfortably.

Santander Cycles – You will no doubt spot the red Santander bikes all around London which are a unique way to see the city and get some exercise too! The app that goes with them shows you where to pick up available bikes and where to drop them too after you’re finished.


Culture Trip – This isn’t just for London so is a great app to get especially if you have more travel plans. By selecting your interests you can find all the amazing opportunities tailored to you.

Dice – the best app for gig and concert tickets across London

VoucherCloud – If you’re on a tight budget this is the perfect app to find all sorts of discounts and deals while you’re in London. Simply search for vouchers, download them to your phone and show when you pay.


ATM Hunter – never get stuck without cash again by downloading this handy app which tells you the directions to the closest ATM wherever you are!
