Community Involvement

CHARITY BREAKFAST

In 2014 Astor Hostels launched London’s first Charity Breakfast in Hostels, purely dedicated to raising money for different charities.  Every guest pays £1 as a donation for breakfast with 100% of donations going to a worthy cause, as voted on by our guests.  We have raised over £65,000 to date for a huge range of Charities including Starlight, Chance for Nepal, KIDS and the Single Homeless Project.
Our aim within the next year is to have raised £100,000 and we need your help to get there!

SOFAR SOUNDS

As part of our Commitment to the promotion of Music, we regularly provide our common spaces for Sofar Sounds, an organization that helps up and coming artists perform in intricate spaces with a live audience.  We have hosted over 35 different performances by an amazing 70 acts over the latter part of 2015 and 2016 and will continue to work with Sofar Sounds to promote the performance of live music in weird and wonderful spaces.

CHARITY CONCERTS

As an extension of our Charity Breakfast, it was decided that we would start holding Charity Concerts in aid of Music based Charities.  In July 2016, we invited two classical Music teachers from Lusaka in Zambia to come and stay with us and attend some of the World famous BBC Proms at the Royal Albert Hall.

In November 2016 we will host a concert from musicians at the renowned World Heartbeat Academy, as well as later in the year, a concert from the World Wide Project based out of Germany.
