This year Summer has come out of nowhere with a staggering consistent blaze of 30 degrees a day, this heat is most definitely not for the faint hearted.

Whilst You are in York Get outside, Slip Slop Slap some sunscreen on and grab your sunnies as we have the best activities for you to do in this beautiful weather.

Cruise the Ouse

Starting off the fun is Taking a boat trip along the river Ouse, here you can relax, suntan and sightsee all at once.

Daily & nightly options run by City Cruises include relaxing day trips that let you enjoy the cities beautiful backdrop, then there are afternoon teas for a more exquisite style of river cruising and then Party nights for all you guys who want the full York summer experience.

If you prefer to be your own captain, why not hire one of their self-sail Red Boats. Ahoy!

Walk the Walls

A walk around the York Bar Walls will show you all the sights, visit Monk Bar, Micklegate Bar, Walmgate Bar & Bootham Bar, you can’t purchase a beer, unfortunately, these are the 4 main ancient Roman gateways to the city. When in York always remember that a pub is a bar, a bar gate & a gate is a street, what could possibly go wrong?

Picnic in the park

Rowntree Park is right in the heart of the city next to the river, something for everyone here, playgrounds, tennis courts, bowling greens, basketball court, a skateboarding area and general areas for picnicking. Oh, and geese, lots of geese.
