London’s very own Columbia Road Flower Market
Written by Nico (Astor Hyde Park)
Located in London’s east end, in between a great contrast of old and modern, The Columbia Road Flower Market pops up with a colourful variety of flowers, where it is possible to find from the most common flowers and trees to the most exotic species you’ll ever see.
The market is composed of a big number of street stalls, where you’ll find any plant that you can imagine as well as lots of gardening products. Although the biggest attraction is the botanic stalls, you can also find tons of vintage and local shops, pubs which are very characteristic of this alternative part of London.

Even though it’s not one of the most known markets in the city, such as Camden, Borough or the Portobello Market, the Columbia Road market is a must go, even if you’re not a botanical enthusiastic. The beautiful colour set up and the diverse aromas you’ll find will brighten your stay in London.
The Columbia Road market is only open on Sundays from 8am to 3pm, so if you are planning on visiting it make sure to keep your Sunday morning free. Getting there it’s very easy and you have many options on how to do it. You can either take the underground Northern line to Old Street, and walk a few minutes, or you can also get there by using the bus network, where you’ll find plenty of buses leaving you a few steps from the market.
