Charming spots in London: Little Venice

Posted September 29, 2016

Who would imagine that we would have a little Venice in London? If you think about it, it’s not that impossible, have you seen our amazing canals?? Yeah it’s true the Tames River will offer you a good place to chill and to relax on a little boat ride or just with a pub next to the river.

London’s Little Venice is a tranquil canal area, home to waterside cafes and pubs, enjoy a stroll along pretty streets and take a relaxing boat trip to ZSL London Zoo or go to Camden, Just north of Paddington lies Little Venice. This picturesque pool of water where the Grand Union and Regent’s Canals meet, is home to a number of waterside cafes, pubs and eateries.

From here you can take a boat trip or follow the tow path on foot and see how the winding waterway snakes its way through the heart of the city. You can head downstream past the charming regency streets of Maida Vale and on to Regent’s Park and Camden beyond, or follow this peaceful corridor upstream to the west and enjoy the tranquillity of the waterways that feel like a million miles from the hubbub of the roads and streets nearby.

The area is a popular tourist attraction mainly due to the picturesque canals with Narrowboat cruises travelling between Little Venice and Camden Lock. Treat yourself to gloriously juicy Chinese at Pearl Liang, seafood delights at Summerhouse or a spot of light entertainment at the Canal Café.
