Top 3 Caribbean Restaurants in London

Posted August 25, 2016

So whilst in London there is such a variety of different foods to taste and explore, the array from the different cultures all mixed in the big city is amazing and for Caribbean food we sure have some delicious treats for you all to enjoy!
I’ve been on a little mission here for the last few weeks to try to find the tastiest, affordable and most authentic Caribbean food possible. I am not from any Caribbean island or an expert but I have always loved me some jerk chicken and all the rest of their delicacies and this is my wonderful list of my personal top three places I have discovered in town.

Firstly the quirky and unique Dub Jam situated in the heart of Covent Garden this intimate hang out has all the old school favourites! Not only does this place some amazing juicy chicken it is also known for it’s offering of rum. The combination of the restaurant and rum shack will make you all your Caribbean dreams come true. The prices range from around £8-£14 for a huge ass plate, so this is a must but remember to try to book a table before heading down. It is on the smaller size building so tables are needed to be reserved especially if your whole crew are planning to go.

The second marvel on my list is the gangster spot of Fish, Wings and Tings this super cool and edgy restaurant throws it back to the old school ska theme. This place offers their clients a new generation of Caribbean foods but still hugely influenced by the classic favourites. This place offers gorgeous food but also the amazing treat of Trinidadian beer which I completely recommend. Fish, Wings and Tings is found in the heart of Brixton about a 10 minute walk from the tube station. Hurry on over and check it out, my only warning to you is that it is shut on Mondays so plan all the boring activities for that day and then enjoy this Brixton treasure any other day.

The final piece to our puzzle is the amazing Rum Kitchen it is a little of a bias opinion but I cannot fault this place, it is one of the most delicious places ever and it has my two favourite things..Rum and Chicken!! Located close to both Oxford Circus and also and very close to Chinatown this place is the ideal if you fancy having some food but getting ready for the party night ahead of you! The cool atmosphere sets you in the perfect mood. The prices can vary from £9 a dish to the big boy house specials that can be a whopping £22. There is still plenty of choice for anyone who doesn’t want to break the bank.
So I hope you go get your Caribbean spirit out and taste some delicious dishes!
