Eurovision Song Contest grand final
We’re sure that all the music fans are getting ready for the big final of the Eurovision Song Contest that will take place tomorrow night in Copenhagen, Denmark. We could feel the tension inside all the Astor Hostels’ corridors as guests from different countries would look at each other defiantly.
Last night there was the second and last round of the semi-finals so we already know the 26 countries that will compete tomorrow for the victory. 20 were picked through the semi-finals and 6 will enter the final automatically (UK, France, Germany, Spain, Italy and Denmark).
At the moment the favourite seems to be the Swedish Sanna Nielsen with her ballad “Undo” but people seem to also like a lot the British Molly Smitten-Downes and the Norwegian Carl Espen.
But all the eyes this year are on Conchita Wurst, the “bearded Lady” who’s representing Austria. Despite petitions from Russia and Belarus to have her song blocked, Europe fell in love with her as soon as she took to the stage on Thursday night in her semi-final. She’s very quickly become one of the favourites too, and she surely hopes to move from being the “bearded lady” to the Queen of Eruovision.
The Eurovision Song Contest is truly Europe’s Favourite TV Show with audience figures quoted in recent years as anything between 100 million and 600 million internationally, as the show is broadcasted in countries all over the world.
So, dear Astor Hostels friends, place your bets!
